MBTI Stereotypes: the Basics (part 4)

I can't believe we actually made it to part four of this. XD I'm sure some of you are rejoicing at this being the last post, and some of you are wishing this could be a purely MBTI blog. :P But. For what it's worth, may I present our last category of the MBTI: the Explorers.

(P.S. For those of you just joining us, you can check out my other posts - one on the Diplomats, one on the Analysts, and one on the Sentinels. :))

ESFP: the Entertainer

ESFPs are your social butterflies. They're always up for a social event, especially if it means they can be the center of attention and - you guessed it - entertain their friends. Stereotypically, ESFPs are also obsessed with aesthetic and fashion, along with social media. They enjoy having many varied friends and are always trying something new with them. They also tend to be rather popular.

Some flaws of the ESFP is that they can be rather vain at times, and they can struggle with being alone. They seem to be one of the most obviously extroverted types, which... explains a lot. XD

ESFP Examples: Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon, Eep from The Croods, and Ellie from Up

ESFP Memes:

ESTP: the Entrepreneur

ESTPs are some of the most popular types out there - both in that the type is loved by MBTI nerds and people with this type tend to be more popular in real life. ESTPs are some of your most adventurous people: they're reckless, easily bored, and always looking for something new (and probably dangerous) to do to get them that adrenaline rush. They're very in-the-moment.

Besides that reckless streak, a stereotypical ESTP is overly flirtatious and can come across as full of themselves. They may struggle to slow down in life and take some time to just... breathe.

ESTP Examples: (there are so many ESTP characters out there, and they're all very well liked, so I'm going to do five examples instead of three XD): Han Solo from Star Wars, Merida from Brave, Dash fromThe Incredibles, Kili from The Hobbit (films), and Eugene (Flynn) Fitzherbert from Tangled.

ESTP Memes:

ISTP: the Virtuoso

For whatever reason, the stereotypical ISTP is... a mechanic. *blinks* Not sure why, but apparently that fits them very well (hence the avatar). ISTPs are socially distant, more than a little blunt, and essentially the definition of a lone wolf. They're calm and collected, with a tough exterior.

All of those things that I mentioned can be strengths and weaknesses. Being able to function without people is a good skill to have, but it's also a good skill to be able to function with people. There's a time and a place for bluntness, and a time and place for softening your words. Etcetera.

ISTP Examples: Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Go Go from Big Hero 6, and Beorn from The Hobbit

ISTP Memes:

ISFP: the Adventurer

ISFP is the most confusing type for me, so forgive the shortness of this one. XD

A stereotypical ISFP is an artist, aesthetically inclined (in the extreme) and enjoying trying new things within the few major categories they enjoy. (Like, trying sculpting and painting in the realm of art.) They're a bit reclusive, but can be social and fun. They're imaginative but grounded in the real world.

...I'm not aware of any ISFP stereotypical flaws other than their fierce independence, which can make it hard for them to work on a team.

ISFP Examples: Kristoff from Frozen, Lucy Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia, and Fili from The Hobbit (films)

ISFP Memes:

If you're interested in learning more about MBTI, check out Frank James on YouTube. He's got a lot of funny skits about the stereotypes, and some more educational videos about MBTI as well. :)

Before we close, allow me to share some of the best memes I have - the ones with multiple personalities interacting at once. Once you understand the stereotypes behind each one, they're quite funny. :P (click on the memes to see the full picture)

Anyway, that's all I got for you, folks. XD I hope you enjoyed this series and got hooked on MBTI. >:) What's your type? Which of these stereotypes do you think is the least accurate? Most accurate? Which type is your favorite? What's one of your favorite characters from a book/movie, and what type do you think they are? Were any of today's memes good? (Goodness they were hard to find XD)

Until next time,

Take courage, pursue God, and smile while you still have teeth!! ^_^
